I love football.  I would watch it in any form, either indoor or outdoor.

So I was surprised to find the number of what would be minor league football teams are out there.

I knew about the Arena Football League.  But really didn't know much about the teams.

He was my friend, my hero, and a true American.

Russell Means died yesterday in South Dakota.

Remembering my Dad

In two weeks my Dad will have been gone 2 years.

 But unlike most other people, I reflect on odd facts that connect my dad and I.

My parents got married when they were both 18 years old. 

They had to get permission from their parents.  

They did so by telling their respective families that my mother was with child.

2 Years later I was born.

 Many years have passed since then.

2 years after his death my first child has come into the world.

My dad would be 76.

I turned 18 in 76.

I know it is probably silly to look at things this way, but I have another wrinkle to add to this post.

I got married prior to my first child.

I was told when I was in my 30s that I could not produce a child.

I am , nevertheless, a proud new father.

Thanks Dad... I think..

I grew up in Minnesota in the 1960s and 1970s.

I went to my Grandparent's in White Bear Lake, Minnesota every summer.

Many lakes are in and around White Bear Lake.

My Grandparents lived on, one the smaller ones,  Birch Lake.

We would often drive around the towns namesake on errands with Grandma.

It sparkling waters seemingly calling me to join the countless others having fun on her waters.

So I was sad to read in the article on the link below about White Bear Lake's water loss.

Please read the article. Make your own judgement as to why the lake is growing smaller.

It is doing things that increase the release of oxygen into your environment.

The following are examples of the Oxygen footprint:

1. Buying indoor plants.
2. Plant outdoor plants such has evergreens.

We always here about our Carbon footprint, but not our Oxygen footprint.  

Why can't we increase are Oxygen footprint at the same time we reduce the Carbon footprint?
